The depend_1 variable in the l2_lo-sw-species product is currently set to 'esa_step' rather than 'energy_per_charge'. This results in esa_step being used for the y-axis when plotting the intensity data in CAVA. However, since the esa_step simply gives the step number of the ESA and so ranges from 0-127, it does not provide physically meaningful information to interpret the data. Instead the dependency should be linked to energy_per_charge so that when plotting the correct information is used for the y-axis.
Hopefully this can be implemented in data release 2.
