A simple .js script to bring your WebOS 26 tv back home after being stuck in Europe.
Now this is setup to change from Europe to US. This is my first repository out of many to come. And yeah theres other options for this same task, but Webos 26 wasnt where I wanted to be yet, my young, beautiful girls just get so annoyed when a box pops up in front of their shows. But its ok, I wanted to be a pen tester when I grew up, but life directed me into a plumber. But my favorite hobby is testing and learning exactly how things work. This script however is pretty simple. Now I'm learning to explain things, and will update as I go, for now I will referr you to instructions on specific things you need for this to work.
I bought a used board after burning one up, it was super cheap and I knew it was stuck on Europe. I didnt know it was STUCK. Like LG locks it down on Europe only. There are other options, but I feel they could break as they Directly overwright to hardware leverl things, and to specofic addresses. This one, although could break things, I dont feel forces much, just more or less, requests the system to do it through Lune which the system relies on, and on WebOS 26, Very very much relies on plus node is in every system, but on 26 is very much one of the root system requirements. after your root make sure your at the airport ready, and you have Ice cube "Today was a good day" ready to go because all those sleepless nights are about to go away.
you have a choice of 2 things eithenoder way you need to understand the shell and have a basic unserstading of runninf commands.
download the file geokill.js, and upoad it to a writable area like /tmp or even /homr/root which is your home when you first get into the file system.
run it with node : node ./geokill.js or node /tmp/geokill.js or wherever you have the file. if you encounter errors with palmbus or whatever crazy thing, then while in the shell, type node and hit enter, youll see it go into node mode lmao...youll see it change to > then just open the dang file on note pad on your PC and copy and paste it into node mode on the TV. Make sure yo have a change of undies, cause your TV will go black. But dont trip potatoe chip, it comes on, then with your Magical genie remote, heat to settings, location, and youll see United states, and then a spot for Zip code. get in thaat bitch and enter your zipcode.
Again I suggest a hard reset. If you didnt want root but did for location, reset system setteings. root will be gone, TV stays home, your good.
