I'm also facing this issue, I would say this is a pretty important PR as it can be a major blocker for teams trying to migrate to newer versions of Angular. Most teams goal im assuming is trying get to modern angular versions and then prepare for an Esbuild migration and a Native Federation Migration as well, but that can't be done easily without a stable migration path from lower Angular versions. Should we fork this or can we get the PR tested and the merge to go through? @manfredsteyer
