A passionated opensource developer,
having fun with minimizing a statically linked
Linux conglomeration.
Started programming with Basic at an IBM PC(One of those first models,no hd, no graphics..), to head on to Pascal, later Cpp, did a lot with perl, some Java, Javascript, finally came back to C, Assembly and shell scripts.
Did work with sql, css, html, and so on.
DIY Electronics, mainly audio, etched own boards some time ago.
Having fun with shrinking binaries, system development with C and Assembler, (size) optimizing algorithms, latency optimized OS development.
Yet all code here is written by me, in person.
I mark all ai usage explicitly for several reasons.
Currently I'm somehow fascinated reviving really old C codebases from the 80s and 90s. Sort of a new intellectual riddle. What got interesting. So I moved on to writing a posix shell, to realize, I'm writing a 50 year old dinosaur. Many features were specified IMHO, to make an interesting hack with the only job to work somehow a standard. Originally I did believe, I could build a general compiler from that. The parts I'll need to abandon for that again are constantly growing. Well. Funny.
I'm using AI to get through the specs of all those special cases, but I code manually. Especially with some edge cases the code suggestions of AI yet are not perfect.
I'm further using AI to learn some mathematics (I'm bad with formulating mathematically abstract concepts like asymptotes or similarities, I normally use my brain for that) and to repeat some historical and psychological knowledge. Was animated to finally also read Victor Frankl. No I'm healthy, you are just bored, that's all. ^^
Further I'm trying to puzzle Erlanger constructivism (logic of language, analytical philosophy) together with LLM. Unsuccessful. Maybe we are confronted with something, what is completely outside of normal categories. Eventually, since AI doesn't know reason (nous). However, again according to Frankl, the "noogene Neurose" (being bored) is the cause of all that trouble of humans, so...
Did learn/repeat some higher physics with ai, everyone is enthusiastic, so I'm also writing about imho positive aspects..
