- SCP-PL-338 is a marble statue of David that constantly emits a foul-smelling gas from various orifices, despite having no visible holes. Inhaling this gas causes people to experience a memory of a medical conversation and feel an itching sensation under their skin. Inside the statue, a living human being was found, with most of its organs liquified, and a four-meter-long, unknown species of tapeworm emerged after the statue shattered. This tapeworm laid eggs that, when consumed by a pig, caused the animal to turn into marble, creating new instances designated SCP-PL-338-A, which have also been found inhabiting caves in Florence.
- Catatumbo lightning (?)
- The Catatumbo lightning is a unique and almost continuous atmospheric phenomenon occurring over Lake Maracaibo in Venezuela, particularly where the Catatumbo River flows into the lake. Known as "The Everlasting Storm," it is the world's highest density lightning hotspot, with 250 flashes per square kilometer per year, occurring for 140 to 160 nights annually. This natural light show results from warm, moist air from the plains meeting the high mountain ridges of the Andes, creating electrical charges and intense thunderstorm activity, mostly within the clouds. It has been a significant cultural landmark, historically serving as a "Lighthouse of Maracaibo" for navigators and appearing on the flag and coat of arms of Zulia state.
