Description
This PR introduces virtualization for the Social ActivityFeed list to improve performance and scalability. By rendering only visible items and recycling DOM nodes, the feed can now handle large, unbounded datasets without degrading user experience.
Key Changes
Integrated a virtualization library (react-window / react-virtualized) for efficient list rendering.
Replaced the existing unbounded list with a virtualized component.
Implemented dynamic row heights to support variable content sizes.
Added smooth scrolling and lazy loading for new activities.
Updated tests to validate virtualization behavior and ensure feed correctness.
Motivation
The unbounded ActivityFeed list caused performance bottlenecks when rendering large numbers of activities. Virtualization reduces memory usage and improves rendering speed, ensuring a responsive UI even with thousands of items.
Testing
Verified that only visible items are rendered at any given time.
Confirmed smooth scrolling and correct rendering of dynamic content.
Benchmarked performance improvements compared to the previous implementation.
Ensured accessibility and keyboard navigation remain intact.
